The Grappling Hook was introduced to NGS through the VManip Grappling Hook: The Finals addon. It is the most effective method for vertical travel. You can assign it to a key using bind <key> tf_grapple.

The Grappling Hook is capable of being parried.

• Press the assigned keybind to start grappling.
• Press the +walk keybind to ungrapple mid-air.

The Grappling Hook previously existed as an entity under the Entity>Others tab. It was activated by pressing G. It featured a linear acceleration profile, allowing travel speeds of up to 3500 ups, making it the top choice for traversal. Due to its overpowered nature, it was eventually removed and replaced.
